This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

WESTMINSTER, VT, March 19th — In challenging ground conditions, Westminster Fire & Rescue helped EMS personnel return a patient to their house after a medical transfer. Due to recent mud season weather, normal ambulance equipment was unable to approach the site, necessitating extra assistance. The patient was securely transported from the transport unit to the home by firefighters using off-road equipment. While negotiating the soft, uneven terrain typical of rural Vermont at this time of year, crews worked closely together to maintain patient care.

Such incidents frequently occur during spring thaw, when restricted access can cause patients to move more slowly. Agencies are able to carry out these tasks in a safe and effective manner because to their skilled staff and sophisticated equipment. There were no reported injuries. The call demonstrates the ongoing collaboration between fire and emergency medical services during difficult times.
