Fire Departments Invited to Instructor-Level EVDT Course

An instructor-level Emergency Vehicle Driver Training (EVDT) course offered by VFIS will be held at the Grand Isle Volunteer Fire Department.
The train-the-trainer event is set for Friday, July 10 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM and Saturday, July 11 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. In order to enable agencies to administer EVDT programs internally, the course is intended to train firefighters and EMS professionals to become certified teachers.
The training emphasizes emergency vehicle operations, driver safety, and instructional strategies, according to officials. After finishing, participants can use teacher resources to help their departments with further training.
