Barre City Fire Honors Cathy’s 43 Years of Service

BARRE, VT — March 19th — After 43 years of emergency communications service, Cathy's retirement was acknowledged by the Barre City Fire Department, located at 15 4th Street. By managing calls, organizing units, and keeping up radio traffic for police, fire, and EMS responses, Cathy assisted with day-to-day operations. Dispatchers, who frequently operate as the public's initial point of contact, are crucial to ensure prompt response and clear communication during incidents.
She helped crews with both regular calls and more serious accidents thanks to her experience and understanding of area operations. Long-term service in communications enhances overall response efficiency and strengthens agency coordination. As she started her retirement, department officials wished her well and recognized her consistent presence and dedication to public safety.
