Joseph A. Marini, the retired Camden, NJ Chief of Department was laid to rest on April 10, 2026 at the age of 75. Chief Marini was appointed to the Camden Fire Department in 1976, rose through the ranks, and was appointed Chief of Department in 2001 where he served in that capacity until his retirement in 2009. Chief Marini, among other things, was credited with updating the CFD policies and procedures which included expanding its Special Operations Command. In addition to his lifelong devotion to the Camden Fire Department, Chief Marini was an avid fire buff and loved time spent visiting his brothers from the Philadelphia Fire Department, the Boston Fire Department, and especially his beloved FDNY. The brotherhood of the job was very special to him. Every fireman was his brother. He will be missed and his legacy will be carried on in the CFD that he faithfully served for over 30 years.
