Five Baby Foxes Safely Rescued by Red Lion Firefighters

RED LION, PA — April 7th — After multiple baby foxes were discovered stuck in a drainage field pipe, the Department Alliance Fire and Rescue Services, Inc. responded to a call for an animal rescue. Five young foxes were found inside the pipe when firefighters arrived. In order to remove the animals without hurting anyone, crews had to gently enter the area. After being securely removed from the pipe, the fox kits were given to wildlife experts for assessment and treatment.


When animals becomes stuck in pipes, storm drains, or other small areas, fire crews are frequently asked to help with animal rescues. To safeguard both the animals and the responders, these calls need to be handled carefully and coordinated. The extraordinary rescue effort was successfully completed with the safe removal of all five foxes.
