Conklin, NY - The department took delivery of its new ATV 46—a 2026 Can-Am—replacing the previous 2011 John Deere unit. The new addition was quickly put to use, as crews responded the very next day to a brush fire across the border alongside Hallstead Fire Company off Route 29.

During the incident, ATV 46 demonstrated its capabilities by successfully completing a creek crossing, allowing firefighters to reach and extinguish the rapidly spreading fire more efficiently. This level of access and performance would not have been possible with the department’s previous ATV.

The department looks forward to utilizing this new equipment to further strengthen its ability to protect and serve the community in future emergencies.
