State Officials Meet With Fire Chiefs to Discuss Volunteer Program

Cicero, NY — March 4th — Chief Jim Perrin came to Albany to meet with state authorities and fire service executives to discuss support for volunteer firefighters, according to members of the Cicero Fire Department. Chief Perrin joined officials from the Association of Fire Districts of the State of New York, New York State Fire Coordinators, and the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs.


The Nominal Compensation Program, which seeks to assist volunteer firemen who offer emergency services around the state, was promoted by the group. Interviews with Albany News 10 and a press conference at the State Capitol were part of the visit. Later, representatives from the New York State Assembly, Senate, and Governor's Office met with fire service leaders to talk about the concept.
