Baldwinsville Volunteers Support Animal Rescue Incident

Baldwinsville, NY — March 24th — In response to a report of a dog in difficulty in a river, volunteers from Department Baldwinsville Vol. Fire Company were asked to help the North West Fire District. While units were responding, Air 1 from the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office, which was already operating nearby, located the dog in the water. The animal was successfully taken out of the river by the aviation team after they swiftly positioned themselves.


Coordination between law enforcement aviation units and fire departments is frequently necessary when animal incidents occur in waterways. Before more resources could reach on the site, Air 1's prompt action helped resolve the problem. The dog was safely out of the water when the call terminated. Firefighters expressed gratitude to the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office and highlighted that the response demonstrated great teamwork.
