New Tower 18 Put Through In-Service Training

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

On March 17th, the Fredonia Fire Department announced that firefighters had completed in-service training for the Tower 18 equipment.

The training, organized by Chief Myers and the department's Truck Committee, aimed to familiarize firemen with the tower's functioning, safety systems, and aerial capabilities. Hands-on drills ensured that personnel in the Fredonia and Pomfret response areas were properly equipped to deploy the device during an emergency.

Department officials also expressed gratitude to Mayor Ferguson and the Village Board of Trustees for their support for the new equipment purchase.

Tower 18 is built on a Rosenbauer COMMANDER chassis and features a 2,000-GPM pump, a Rosenbauer Logic Control System, and a 101-foot King Cobra articulating platform to suit the department's and the community's operational requirements.
