On March 23rd, personnel of the Endicott Fire Department responded to an event that illustrated the daily job that firefighters do to help their communities.

In frigid evening temperatures and with just portable lights, firemen ascended to reach and safely remove an animal that had become stranded on a roof. The crew worked diligently to execute the rescue and safely return the animal.

Department officials stressed that, while some calls may not make headlines, each answer is critical to families in need.

Endicott Professional Firefighters Local 1280 members said the call illustrates the department's dedication to provide 24-hour service to the community.
