Highland Hose Co. Members Log 561 Service Hours in February

The Highland Fire District Chief's Office has released their monthly activity report for February 2026. According to Chief Jeffrey A. DiMetro, personnel of Highland Hose Co. No. 1, Inc. responded to 44 dispatched fire alarms this month.
Each call drew an average of 13 firefighters, with the greatest response reaching 22. Firefighters responded to 92 apparatus calls and spent 330 hours dealing with emergencies. Members also logged 29 hours in meetings, 192 hours in training, and 10 hours supporting department activities.
During February, firemen responded to events and maintained readiness for the village and nearby municipalities, totaling 561 service hours.
Residents interested in joining the department can visit Highland Fire District Headquarters at 25 Milton Avenue between 9 AM and 5 PM on weekdays, or attend an information session on April 13th at 7 PM.
