March 20, 2026 — The Hinesburg Fire Department is inviting community members and aspiring emergency personnel to enroll in an upcoming Vermont Emergency First Responder (VEFR) course, offering a valuable opportunity to begin or expand a career in emergency services. The course will be held at the department’s station on Route 116 in Hinesburg and will take place over three sessions on March 24, March 26, and March 28. Designed to provide foundational emergency medical training, the program will cover essential skills including patient assessment, trauma and medical response, airway management, CPR, EMS operations, and scene safety. The course is open to individuals who meet prerequisite requirements such as current CPR certification, FEMA ICS training, and mandated reporter training, with additional instruction available for those needing certification updates. Department officials emphasized the importance of building a strong, well-trained responder base within the community and noted that opportunities like this help strengthen both local response capabilities and regional mutual aid support. With limited seats remaining, interested participants are encouraged to register promptly to secure a spot in the class.
