March 25, 2026 — The Readsboro Fire Department responded to two recent calls for service, including a medical assist and a reported structure fire. At approximately 11:20 a.m., units 92-U1 and NBEMS were dispatched for a medical assist, providing aid to a patient in need. Earlier, on March 24 at 11:48 p.m., crews responded with Engine 3 and Tanker 1 to a first-alarm structure fire with a possible electrical cause. Upon arrival, command reported no visible fire or smoke, and investigation determined the issue was contained to a light switch and had been extinguished prior to arrival. Firefighters checked for extension using a thermal imaging camera, secured the electrical source by shutting off the breaker, and ensured the structure was safe before returning it to the homeowner. Mutual aid units were quickly canceled as the situation was brought under control.
