March 19, 2026 — The City of Vergennes Fire Department hosted an Addison County Firefighters Association (ACFA) training focused on “Stop the Bleed” techniques, bringing together firefighters and emergency responders for hands-on instruction alongside the Vergennes Area Rescue Squad. Participants practiced multiple methods of bleeding control, including tourniquet application and wound packing, while also gaining valuable familiarity with rescue squad ambulances and equipment. Officials emphasized that integrating fire and EMS training enhances coordination and preparedness, ensuring responders can deliver rapid, life-saving care during emergencies.
