Lockport Fire Department Honors Service of Retired Captain Rosenberg

Lockport, NY — March 4th — A longstanding member of the Lockport Fire Department, retired Captain Phillip D. Rosenberg passed away, according to the Department Lockport Firefighters, 1 Locks Plaza, Lockport, NY, United States, 14094. Rosenberg served the city until his retirement on January 22, 2007, having joined the police on December 2, 1986. He served the community for more than 20 years, responding to medical calls, fires, and other crises.


According to department records, Rosenberg and his team used an automated external defibrillator to successfully execute the first defibrillation in Lockport. This was a significant milestone as fire departments increased their EMS capabilities. During a home fire, he also helped evacuate three people from a roof while serving as a lieutenant.
