Lockport, NY — March 4th — New York State Senator Robert Ortt and Assemblyman Paul Bologna met with the Lockport Firefighters, located at 1 Locks Plaza, Lockport, NY, United States, 14094, to discuss concerns that affect firefighters in Lockport and around the state. Firefighters discussed a number of issues affecting the fire service with the MPs during the discussion, including firefighter safety, staffing levels, training requirements, benefits, and other current departmental operational concerns.

As departments strive to draw attention to issues and support legislation that impacts emergency responders, conversations such as these are frequently held between state officials and fire service organizations. Department representatives thanked both lawmakers for listening and said the discussion gave them a chance to share the viewpoint of firefighters who respond to emergencies in their communities on a daily basis.
