Wantagh, NY — March 7th — Officers were sworn in and members were honored for their service at the Wantagh Fire Department's 126th Annual Installation Dinner. Chief of Department William L. Stevens took the oath of office. First Assistant Chief Paul Krussmann, Second Assistant Chief Christopher Dolley, and Third Assistant Chief Richard Mongiello will support him.

Chief Stevens commended members during his remarks for the almost 2,700 calls they answered last year as well as the numerous hours they put into training and assisting with community events. Additionally, 34 members were honored by the department for reaching service milestones ranging from five to sixty-five years. Former Chief Bruce Sparke received a 50-year award, while former Chief Leonard Mathewson received an eight-year award.
