March 15, 2026 — The Conway Fire Department responded to a serious motor vehicle crash on the Kancamagus Highway in Albany at approximately 2:27 p.m., involving two vehicles with one reported over an embankment and occupants trapped. Initial responding units, including Engine 2, Rescue 1, and Ambulance 2, were advised en route of multiple patients and confirmed entrapment, prompting the request for additional resources from the North Conway Fire Department. Upon arrival, crews located two heavily damaged vehicles—one in the roadway with a trapped occupant and another positioned on a guardrail. Despite early reports of up to six patients, triage determined four individuals required medical attention. Command requested LifeFlight of Maine along with additional ambulances from Tamworth Fire Department and Action Ambulance. Firefighters successfully extricated one patient, and all four patients were transported from the scene for further care. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the cause of the crash. Officials credited the coordinated multi-agency response for the efficient management of the incident.
