Richmond-Carolina Fire District Celebrates Lt. Ava Bridge’s Career Appointment

March 9, 2026 — The Richmond-Carolina Fire District is recognizing Lt. Ava Bridge as she begins her first day as a career firefighter with the Dunn’s Corners Fire District.
Lt. Bridge’s journey in the fire service began at just 14 years old as a junior firefighter with RCFD, where she quickly advanced through the ranks to become Junior Lieutenant and later a line officer. Along the way, she earned her EMT-B certification and most recently achieved EMT-A/Cardiac certification, further strengthening her commitment to emergency medical services.
Throughout her time with the department, Lt. Bridge played a key role in leading the junior firefighter program and spearheading fire safety education efforts within the community.
Department members expressed pride in her accomplishments and wished her continued success as she takes this next step in her fire service career.
