Perth, NY — February 23rd — Perth Volunteer Fire Company held a training exercise that concentrated on firefighter endurance and the use of self-contained breathing gear (SCBA). In order to replicate typical fireground operations while operating on air, members underwent a series of physically taxing evolutions. While wearing complete safety gear, the drill focused on air management, endurance, and safe movement.
Additionally, firefighters practiced victim search drills, emphasizing collaboration, communication, and search strategies in low-visibility settings akin to interior fire conditions. The fire service regularly mandates SCBA training, which keeps firemen up to date on equipment and operating methods. Regular drills, according to department commanders, help guarantee that members are always ready to react to emergencies in a safe and efficient manner.
