Multiple Alarms Sounded as Crews Battle Attic Fire in Multi-Unit Home

Auburn, NY - Firefighters from Auburn Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire involving a two-story, multi-unit residential building, arriving quickly to find active fire conditions in the roof area.


Crews launched an aggressive interior attack and located heavy fire within the attic space.


As conditions intensified, additional alarms were requested to bring in more resources and maintain coverage across the area.


Firefighters operated multiple handlines while also utilizing an aerial master stream from a ladder truck to bring the fire under control.


The bulk of the fire was knocked down after an extended operation, with crews remaining on scene to assist fire investigators.


All occupants were able to exit the building safely prior to arrival, and no injuries were reported. Several residents were displaced and are receiving assistance from the Red Cross.


The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
