March 19, 2026 — North Yarmouth Fire Rescue provided a sneak peek update on the progress of its new Tanker 53, highlighting recent advancements in the apparatus build.
The truck body has now been mounted to the chassis, with additional work completed including the installation of compartment doors and lighting components. The new tanker is continuing to take shape as it moves closer to completion and eventual placement into service.
Once finished, Tank 53 will enhance the department’s water supply capabilities, particularly in areas without hydrant access, supporting both local operations and mutual aid responses.
Department members and the community alike are eagerly awaiting the completion of the new apparatus as it prepares to join the fleet in North Yarmouth.
