March 14, 2026 — Members of North Yarmouth Fire Rescue took part in a live training burn in Pownal, working alongside Pownal Fire & Rescue and Durham Fire and Rescue in a collaborative training exercise.

Lt. Winters and Firefighter/Medic Foster were assigned as igniters for the training, playing a key role in setting and managing fire conditions to provide realistic scenarios for participating crews.

North Yarmouth responded with Engine 52, Tanker 53, Ambulance 56, and Car 1, with Car 1 serving as the command post during the evolution. The exercise allowed firefighters to practice coordinated fireground operations, communication, and tactical decision-making in a controlled environment.

Multi-department training opportunities like this strengthen mutual aid relationships and ensure firefighters are prepared to operate together effectively during real incidents.
