February 28, 2026 — The West Warwick Fire Department expressed its appreciation to multiple agencies for their hard work during a major snow removal operation following recent winter weather.

Crews from the West Warwick Department of Public Works (DPW), Rhode Island National Guard, and Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) worked throughout the weekend to clear roadways, remove snow buildup, and restore safe travel conditions across the community.

Efforts included plowing residential streets, hauling away large snow piles, and managing road closures to ensure both public safety and efficient cleanup operations. The coordinated response helped reopen critical roadways and improve accessibility for emergency services and residents alike.

Fire department officials recognized the dedication and long hours put in by all involved, noting that these behind-the-scenes efforts play a crucial role in keeping communities safe during and after severe winter storms.
