50-Year Member Michael Barron Named Assistant Fire Chief

— March 16th — Schuyler Hose Co. Fire Chief Brian Myers Jr. has announced the appointment of Michael J. Barron as assistant fire chief. Barron will be assigned to car 579.


Barron is a 50-year member of the department and has served in several leadership roles, including lieutenant, captain, and most recently safety officer. Over the years, he has been active in emergency response, training, and department operations that benefit firefighters and the community.


Department officials noted that Barron’s experience and long service make him well suited for the role as he helps lead operations and support members during incidents and training.


Members congratulated Barron on his appointment and thanked him for his continued dedication to the department and the residents it serves.
