Multiple-Alarm Fire vs. Funeral Procession

Photo by RON JEFFERSDuring a multiple-alarm fire involving a Tonnelle Avenue bread business in North Bergen, March 17th, township police were notified that a funeral procession was coming up the major roadway to a mausoleum on the opposite side of the street. No apparatus were committed on the northbound lanes leading up to the mausoleum, so apparatus, chief, fire prevention and EMS vehicles and the Gong Club canteen truck were moved to make an opening for the procession as the fire was in progress.
