Fully Involved House Fire Triggers 3-Alarm Response

Just before 10am on Sunday, June 14th, the Sayreville Volunteer Fire Department was alerted to a structure fire in the Melrose section of town. Station 3 called dispatch and notified them that it was a confirmed fire, with a column in the air, and requested the re-dispatch.
Upon arrival of Chief 110, heavy smoke and fire was showing. There was heavy fire throughout the entirety of the home and multiple collapses occurred. Multiple handlines, 3 aerial master streams, and a blitz fire were used to bring the fire under control. In total, the fire reached two alarms, with third alarm companies standing by in all four Borough of Sayreville fire. Companies on the scene included Melrose Hose Company, Sayreville Engine Co.,, President Park Fire Company, Morgan Fire Comoany, South Amboy Engine 7, Perth Amboy Engine 3, Keyport Ladder 22, South River Engine 3, EBIFC Truck 709, Fords Engine 7-3, and Middlesex County Hazmat.
