This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Topsham, VT - Four members participated in a live fire training session this morning alongside several area departments in Williamstown. The exercise took place in a residential structure scheduled for demolition, offering a unique and realistic training environment.

Multiple scenarios were conducted throughout the building, across different floors and locations, before the structure was ultimately allowed to burn. The training provided hands-on experience in managing fire conditions in a controlled yet authentic setting.

The day began early, just after 5 a.m., with snowfall creating challenging conditions. However, temperatures gradually rose and the sun emerged, improving the environment for training operations.

Opportunities like this are rare, making the experience especially valuable for all involved. Special thanks were extended to the Williamstown Fire Department for organizing and providing this training opportunity.
