February 25, 2026 — Town of Westfield Fire Department deployed Ladder Company personnel to Plainfield as part of a mutual aid coverage assignment while crews there operated at an active structure fire. The response ensured uninterrupted emergency protection for the City of Plainfield, allowing local fire companies to remain committed to fireground operations. Working in coordination with Plainfield Fire Division and the Union County mutual aid system, Westfield firefighters stood ready to respond to any additional incidents that may have arisen during the extended operation.
