Allendale, NJ - Allendale Fire Department responded to a reported carbon monoxide alarm at a residence after a homeowner was awakened by their detector sounding.

Upon arrival, crews identified elevated carbon monoxide levels inside the home, measuring approximately 50 parts per million.

Firefighters worked alongside PSE&G for several hours to ventilate the structure and eliminate the hazard, ensuring the home was safe for occupancy.

No injuries or hospitalizations were reported. The incident serves as an important reminder to regularly check and maintain smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, which should be replaced every 5–10 years, as they play a critical role in protecting lives.
