Multi-Agency Training Brings 60 Firefighters Together

Fort Ann, NY — February 16th — The Fort Ann Volunteer Fire Company held a regional hands-on training session with 60 firemen from Warren and Washington counties. The training was directed by Firefighter Training LLC and its instructors.


Firefighters went through a series of practical evolutions, including size-up, forcible entrance, saw operations, horizontal and vertical ventilation, thermal imaging camera operations, and large-area search procedures.


Members of the Fort Edward Fire Department, Bay Ridge Volunteer Fire Company, Kingsbury Volunteer Hose Company, Greenwich Fire Department, Hudson Falls Volunteer Fire Department, Granville Engine & Hose Company No. 1, Hebron Volunteer Fire Company, West Fort Ann Volunteer Fire & Rescue, and West Glens Falls Volunteer Fire Company took part.


The Fort Ann Rescue Squad provided standby coverage. Organizers also thanked the Town of Fort Ann and Rozell Industries, Inc. for allowing use of the building for the training exercise. Officials noted the event focused on improving skills, teamwork, and coordination among regional firefighters.
