On February 9, 2026, members of the Cragsmoor Fire Company gathered to commemorate and put to rest fellow firefighter John "Jack" Kissel. Firefighters, family members, and people of the community gathered to honor his service and commitment to the department. Members of the fire service commemorated Kissel's "final alarm," a symbolic honoring of a firefighter's final call. Fellow firefighters focused on his dedication to serving the community and the deep relationships that exist throughout the fire department.
