Busy Sunday for Greenlawn Fire Department as Volunteers Train and Respond to 11 Alarms

Greenlawn, NY - The volunteers of the Greenlawn Fire Department spent Sunday doing what they do best—serving their community.


The day began as it typically does, with Firematic Probie practice at Station 1 and Rescue Probie practice at Headquarters, both starting in the early morning hours. Training remains a constant priority for the department, ensuring that members continue sharpening their skills and preparing for any situation.


While the department’s newest members were engaged in training, Greenlawn volunteers were also actively responding to calls for service. Between 6:30 AM and 4:00 PM, the department answered a total of 11 alarms, including six ambulance calls and five fire-related incidents.


Regardless of the time, weather, or schedule, the volunteers of the Greenlawn Fire Department remain committed and ready to serve their community 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
