This is a hard cover coffee table book measuring 9 inches by 12 inches. It has 208 pages The author is a fire photographer with a prestigious background which started off in 1977. In 1981 he was named the Official Photographer for the FDNY Emerald Society. I will let you read the rest of his accomplishments. The book is loaded with both black and white as well as color photos mostly of fire scenes. The contents consist of a Dedication, Forward, Acknowledgements, a Special Thanks , About the Photographer, NYC Fire Department Terminology and photos from 1978 through 2010 followed by an index. The title of the book is a dispatcher’s term given to the responding assignment based on the number of phone calls and pull boxes that were activated about the address of the incident indicating a “working fire.” The Forward was written by Vince Dunne, retired deputy chief and author of educational textbooks.  Not much more can be said about this excellent book that should be of interest of anyone who follows the FDNY and photographs at fire scenes.
