Commack Firefighters Complete Technical Rescue Behind Target

Early on July 21, the Commack Fire Department responded to a technical rescue behind the Target store on Veterans Memorial Highway.
When firefighters arrived and discovered someone trapped, they started an airbag lifting and strut stabilizing operation right away to safely remove the person. After being extricated, the patient was given to the Commack Volunteer Ambulance Corps for assessment and care.
Under a technical rescue agreement, the Smithtown Fire Department offered mutual aid. Chief Purrazzella was in charge of the operations.
