This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

On July 12, at around six o'clock in the evening, the Bohemia Fire Department responded to a working home fire.

When firefighters arrived, they discovered that there was intense fire throughout the house. They promptly set up several handlines for a vigorous attack from both the inside and the outside. After bringing the main body of fire under control, crews spent several hours performing overhaul operations and putting out concealed hot spots.

Captain Frank Caputo oversaw the situation, while many nearby fire departments and ambulance services provided mutual aid support. The synchronized efforts of all responding officers throughout the crisis were acknowledged by department leaders.
