Two Afternoon Calls Keep Station 41 Busy Across the Township

On December 20, in the afternoon, members of the Tobyhanna Township Volunteer Fire Company responded to two different accidents. Station 41 was called to a house in the township's Timber Trails neighborhood at around 12:25 p.m. due to a suspected propane gas odor. Command 41 reacted from Blakeslee, while Rescue 41-2 responded from the Pocono Pines station. For just under an hour, crews worked to identify the source of the smell and make sure the homeowner was safe in the house. Station 41 was sent to a pole and wire fire in the vicinity of Locust Lake Village later in the afternoon, at around 3:00 p.m. Command 41 and Engine 41-2 responded, with crews remaining on scene for approximately 40 minutes before returning to service. The department noted continued interest in recruiting community members, with training provided and multiple membership opportunities available.
