Station 41 of the Tobyhanna Township Volunteer Fire Company has successfully completed its Quick Response Service (QRS) EMS inspection and renewal, which was carried out by the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the EMS Council. 41-Utility-2 in Pocono Pines and 41-Utility-3 in Blakeslee were relicensed as EMS response vehicles as part of the renewal, and they are still available to treat medical emergencies in the community around-the-clock, seven days a week.

Additionally, Ashley Woodrow, MD, of St. Luke's University Health Network, was appointed as the department's new Medical Director. In order to continue providing compassionate, superior treatment, Dr. Woodrow will collaborate closely with Station 41 members and EMS personnel. He has a wealth of military and prehospital emergency care expertise. According to Station 41, QRS teams are state-certified medical units that assist EMS operations in accordance with Pennsylvania Department of Health rules by providing prompt medical treatment prior to ambulance arrival.
