Firefighters Rescue Male Subject from Coatesville House Fire

Firefighters rescued one person trapped inside a house that caught fire in Coatesville Monday afternoon December 27th. At 12:03pm fire companies were dispatched to the residence on N 5th Ave for a reported house on fire with people trapped. As units were responding they were advised of possibly three subjects trapped inside. Ladder 41-1 from Coatesville arrived on scene and confirmed they had smoke showing from the 3rd floor of a 3 1/2 story half a double. Engine 43 arrived on location and crews stretched an 1 3/4 handline into the residence and began a search for occupants. Crews were notified by a resident that only one subject was left inside and was believed to have been on the third floor. Crews were able to locate the man quickly and removed him from the building to waiting EMS. Crews found fire on the third floor and had it under control quickly. Coatesville Firefighters remained on scene for approx. 4 hours for the investigation.
