CHATTAHOOCHEE, FL 12/29/2020 - At 4:32pm Mount Pleasant Firefighters were dispatched to a vehicle fire in the 6300 block of Bonnie Hill Road in Chattahoochee. This was a joint response with the City of Chattahoochee Fire Department and Sycamore Volunteer Fire Department. Upon arrival personnel found a small 4-door passenger vehicle with fire coming from underneath the rear of the vehicle that was being fed by a severed fuel line.
According to the driver the vehicle was hesitating as it went up a hill so the driver pulled over to the side of the road to investigate and lifted the hood to find it smoking. The driver then looked under the vehicle and found that it was on fire and called 911. The vehicle eventually rolled back into the ditch which caused the fuel line to be cut and fueling the fire. Firefighters responded quickly and were able to get water and foam on the fire to bring it under control and subsequently extinguish it.
