Multi-Agency Response Limits Damage at Dwelling Fire

Rio Grande, NJ — December 14 — In the morning, a first-alarm assignment was sent to a residence fire in the 700 West block of Montgomery Avenue. As part of the assignment, units from the Department Rio Grande Fire Company, located at PO Box 672, 1120 Route 47 South, responded. When Squad Company 3, A Platoon, swiftly arrived, they discovered fire on a second-floor deck that had penetrated the wall.


Responding City of Wildwood Police Department officers and firefighters safely evacuated every occupant. In order to limit damage, crews swiftly put out the fire and contained it to its original location. The incident resulted in the displacement of eleven people. Firefighters worked in freezing weather with wind chills in the single digits.
