Electrical Heater Malfunction Triggers Fire Alarm at Weymouth Township School

November 30, 2025, 3:24 p.m. — Dorothy Volunteer Fire Company responded to an activated fire alarm at Weymouth Township School after Station 12-7 was dispatched for Fire Call 25-199. Upon arrival, units established command and conducted an investigation that revealed a smoke condition in the boiler room accompanied by a strong electrical odor.

Further examination determined that a heater circulating pump had burned out, causing the smoke condition. Firefighters remained on scene for approximately one hour ventilating the affected area and checking the remainder of the building to ensure no additional hazards were present. A total of 12 personnel responded, including three engines and two ambulances. No injuries were reported.
