On November 18, 2025, members of the Cardiff, Bargaintown Volunteer Fire Company and the Linwood Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 4370 participated in a joint live-burn training exercise held at the Atlantic County Fire Academy. According to participating departments, the drill focused on incident command, scene size-up, second-floor search operations, fire suppression techniques, and hose-line management. The training emphasized coordinated operations between agencies that routinely work together during emergencies. The evolutions were led by Cardiff Assistant Chief Craig Thompson. During the exercise, Cardiff and Bargaintown firefighters were also dispatched to a simulated rollover motor-vehicle crash involving two vehicles at the intersection of English Creek Avenue and Glenn Avenue. Minor injuries were reported in the scenario, with the incident investigated by the Egg Harbor Township Police Department. Bargaintown Chief Gene Sharp served as incident commander for the simulated response.
