Magnolia, NJ — December 14 — Quint Company 29 was sent to help Squad Company 272 in the Lawnside Fire Company's first-due region during the evening, which was an unusual need for assistance for Magnolia Fire Company 29. A raccoon that was stuck on the upper roof ridge of a two-story single-family home was the subject of an animal rescue request for crews. The animal had been on the roof for a number of hours, and the cold and icy weather made it impossible for it to safely down. Quint Company 29 was a ladder company that maintained a safe operating distance when accessing the roof via the ladder main. The raccoon was brought to animal control and given a warm environment for care after firefighters helped with its controlled capture.
