Gibbsboro, N.J. — November 29 — While helping with seasonal work in the borough, members of Gibbsboro Fire Company #1 finished their ladder training using Quint 68. In order to provide a hands-on environment for reviewing ladder placement, aerial positioning, and ground safety, firefighters started the training detail by decorating the borough tree at the Triangle with Christmas lights.

Crews noticed that the American flag was stuck at the top of the flagpole during operations. The training assignment was put on hold as firefighters used the equipment to safely fix the problem and restore the flag's freedom to fly. Mitch Brown backed the endeavor and the Gibbsboro Police Department provided on-site assistance. Before heading back to their quarters, the exercise gave members the chance to combine skill development with visible community involvement.
