Cherry Hill, N.J. — December 2 — On Route 295, Cherry Hill Fire Department personnel responded to a car accident involving entrapment. Units were sent out in response to reports that a van had become stuck beneath the back of a tractor-trailer, trapping the driver inside.
When they arrived, workers stabilized both cars and barricaded the road to stop them from moving. Then, while EMS staff cared for patients and oversaw extrication operations, firefighters systematically worked to gain access to the van. To guarantee the safety of both responders and patients, rescue activities were carried out in close synchronization. Together with Cherry Hill units, the Mount Laurel Fire Department supported rescue efforts on the spot. While the incident was being minimized, traffic control was managed by law enforcement.
