Audubon, NJ — December 19 — A reported home fire in the 400 block of Monmouth Street in Gloucester City prompted the Audubon Fire Department to dispatch Quint 1. When the units arrived, there was a lot of smoke coming from the second level of the house, and there was a fire. In order to check for fire extension into hidden areas, Quint 1's crew was tasked with internal support operations and helped open the second story. While collaborating with other businesses working on the fire level, crews proceeded methodically to expose walls and ceilings. As situations were brought under control, ventilation and suppression measures persisted. Crews performed an overhaul to make sure there were no hot spots left after the main body of fire was put out. The incident was managed in accordance with existing incident command protocols.
