What was a quiet chilly afternoon in Summerfield Park soon became s scene out of a movie. A car traveling down Summerfield Parkway missed the stop sign where the road ended, traveled approximately 200ft, down and embankment into Summerfield Lake. The two occupants of the vehicle were able to escape before the car completely submerged. One of the occupants was transported to Blake Trauma Center as a Trauma alert patient. The second was transported to a local medical Facility. East Manatee Fire & Rescue responded units along Manatee County EMS. The accident is under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol and the Manatee County Sheriffs Department.
