Penn Hills No. 7 Volunteer Fire Company was called to a second-alarm home building fire in the 1100 block of Maple Avenue in Turtle Creek on December 18. At around 3:00 p.m., Truck 227 was added to the assignment.

When crews arrived, they found the second floor of the house to be in a state of smoke and flames. Before the fire crew arrived, every resident had safely left the building. The incident commander sought a second alert due to the fire conditions, which led to the arrival of several more units. In addition to performing overhaul and extension checks, firefighters sought to contain the fire. Before being released, Truck 227 worked on the scene for around an hour.

283 Captain was in charge of the situation. Numerous organizations provided assistance, including the Allegheny County incident Marshal, which is looking into what started the incident, as well as the local police and emergency medical services.
