Units from Penn Hills No. 7 Volunteer Fire Company were sent to Incident 1094 on December 1 in response to a reported car fire in the 7300 block of Saltsburg Road. AC911 said that several callers had reported a car on fire as units were responding.
When Engine 227 arrived first, they discovered a car with a fire in the engine compartment. Crews started suppression operations and set up an attack line. Soon after, Engine 223 showed up and provided more personnel. There were no casualties at the site, according to the driver.
The engine area's damage was limited because the fire was swiftly put out. Before going back into operation, units ran for around thirty minutes. 223CHF had command of the situation. 227CV, 223SS, the Penn Hills Police Department, and the Penn Hills Fire Marshal, which is looking into what started the fire, were also on the site.
